VA’s Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service

VA’s Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service is deploying its electronic Virtual Assistant (e-VA) to the national stage. e-VA is an artificial intelligence platform, providing modern, streamlined and responsive customer service support to VR&E’s Veterans. Importantly, it automates routine administrative activities for VR&E Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRC) and staff.

REACH Out to Help Prevent Suicide

The REACH campaign’s mission is to educate all Americans that suicide is preventable and to encourage them to REACH to those in need to provide hope. It also encourages people who are hurting to REACH to find help. When people REACH, suicide will be prevented

As we face the tragedy of suicide in our nation, we must reach beyond what we have done before. We must change the way we think about, talk about, and address emotional pain and suffering. Suicide is preventable – but only if we empower ourselves and others with the knowledge, tools and resources we need to reach those who feel hopeless.

REACH is about preventing suicide. It is for and about everyone because we all have risk and protective factors that we need to recognize and understand.

After Action Network

After Action Network (AAN) is a comprehensive referral network for local and national resources. AAN helps Veteran families find local and national resources, serving as a “one-stop shop network of networks, focusing on social services…with catered resources for each Veteran,” says its founder, Marine Veteran Joe Williams.

Who is eligible?
The primary focus of the MIBH is to care for former military personnel who have separated from active duty, with special consideration for those who were separated with “Other Than Honorable” or “Dishonorable” discharge status due to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Psychological Health (PH) conditions.

VA, CDC closely monitoring Coronavirus outbreak

VA is working closely with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other federal partners, monitoring an outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

VA has activated its emergency management coordination cell (EMCC) and is implementing an aggressive and collaborative public health response to protect and care for Veterans. 

What to do if you have symptoms

If you have both:

  • Symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath and
  • Have either recently returned from China or have direct exposure to others diagnosed with 2019-nCoV.

Call before visiting your local VA medical center to seek care. Tell them about your recent travel and your symptoms.
